What is a Blackjack Tire Repair Kit?
Black Jack manufactures tire repair products for the professional installer. The storage case, tools, and consumables are commercial quality, designed to survive the daily rigors of use in a tire repair shop. The insertion and probe tools incorporate a heavy duty 12 ounce chrome T-handle, with a hardened set screw for insertion and probe needles. Insertion and probe needles are replaceable and are available, at additional cost, in several designs. The repair string is made using twelve strands of high-tensile fiber (many competitors use as few as seven strands). Each strand of fiber is individually impregnated with a live-rubber compound (butyl rubber). This compound is laboratory-developed using carbon black, which strengthens the butyl-rubber and matches the color of the tire. Glue is not used to secure the repair to the tire, rather the butyl-rubber is self vulcanizing and permanent, not temporary as are many of the competitor's strings/plugs. Black Jack Inc. stands behind its claim that Black Jack repairs are permanent as stated on their Jobber Price Sheet -- Black Jack Tire Repair Guaranteed for the life of the tire.

Real World Use

This is one tough kit. I stock Black Jack Tire Repair Kits because I found it difficult to find a quality tire plug kit. The ones I found at the local auto parts stores are little more than one-time use tools, more suited for plugging wheelbarrow tires. I came across the Black Jack kit at the 2006 SEMA show in Las Vegas. I was impressed with the quality of each component; from the blow-mold case with a real hinge (not a cheap plastic tab that will fatigue after ten openings) to the heavy duty all-steel insertion tool. This is truly a quality kit that you can rely on in the back country, home, and construction site.
Back at the homestead, I have used my personal Black Jack Tire Repair Kit several times. Plugging a 13" Honda tire is no sweat. I've also plugged two tires on my dump trailer. These are 8 ply, load range E tires, and again they were no sweat for the kit, but a workout for me. I found 8 ply tires to be tough customers. A lesser tire repair kit would have left me with yet another broken reamer or insertion tool. I've also had a chance at my ultimate test... repairing a nail hole in my Bobcat's (as in skidsteer loader) 10 ply tire. Again, this tire was no sweat for the Black Jack Tire Repair Kit, but a workout for me. Those are tough, thick tires and repairing them requires a quality tool. As always, the Black Jack Tire Repair Kit was up to the job.
Going to the back country? Do not rely on your buddy to bring a tire repair kit, bring your own. Bring the best.
Get a flat on the family sedan and spend a few hours at the tire store, or save time and money by fixing it yourself.
Equipment down time at work is very expensive. Save hours and dollars by making your own tire repairs. This kit will save you time and money.
